Public Performance Board Chairman Saman Athaudahetti said that there was no move to ban the screening of 'Suicide Squad' in Sri Lankan theatres.

Speaking to Asian Mirror on the rumored ban on the movie, he said that the movie is not even available in the country for release in theatres. Therefore there is no question of it being banned, he said.

Athaudahetti also maintained that the policy of banning movie was an outdated policy.

A rumor circulated among some circles that the movie 'Suicide Squad' will be banned in Sri Lanka.

Suicide Squad is a 2016 American superhero film based on the DC Comics antihero team of the same name. The film is written and directed by David Ayer.
