Legal Action To Be Taken Against CBK Over Allegations Against Gotabaya Rajapaksa

Pivithuru Hela Urumaya General Secretary Udaya Gammanpila said that they were considering legal action against former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga over the allegations leveled at former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Addressing the media today, Gammanpila said that they were considering sending a Letter of Demand to Kumaratunga for alleging that Rajapaksa was engaged in a financial misappropriation in purchasing fighter jets to the Sri Lanka Air Force.

Kumaratunga had yesterday claimed that the government had spent three times the normal price for six jets and the balance of the money had been located in a foreign bank account belonging to Rajapaksa. All the fighter jets purchased crashed, she added.

Kumaratunga also claimed that she had finished three fourths of the war. Perhaps what she meant was that three fourths of Colombo had been devastated by the LTTE by the time she handed over power, Gammanpila shot back.
