Daya Master Granted Bail, Barred From Leaving Northern Province

Former LTTE Spokesman Daya Master was released on bail today by the Vavuniya Magistrate's Court.

He has been charged under the Prevention of Terrorism Act of being a spokesman of a banned terrorist organization.

He was released on a cash bail of Rs 500,000 and four surety bails of Rs 100,000 each.

Furthermore, he was barred from leaving the northern province.

Daya Master, a former spokesman of the LTTE surrendered to the armed forces in the latter stages of the war, along with George Master, a translator of the LTTE. A magisterial inquiry was being held against both of them. George Master was released recently.
