Nithya Senani Samaranayake, who is a director of NR Consultants and Gowers Corporation allegedly owned by UPFA MP Namal Rajapaksa, was remanded till August 22 by Colombo Additional Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.
She is accused of aiding and abetting money laundering in the two companies. She was arrested by the FCID and produced before courts today.
UPFA MP Namal Rajapaksa and another individual named Sudarsha Bandara Ganegoda were remanded yesterday. Rajapaksa is accused of involvement in money laundering amounting to Rs 15 million in a consultancy firm, NR Cconsultancy, and another 30 million in Gowers corporation, which is allegedly owned by him.
