The United States Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, made a visit to the Trincomalee Naval Dockyard on Monday and observed the ongoing joint training between the navies of the two countries.

The Sri Lanka Navy said the visiting US official was received by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne on his arrival.

Cordial discussions were held at the Navy House where views on the ongoing bilateral training between the two navies were exchanged, the Sri Lanka Navy said. Senior navy officers including the Commander Eastern Naval Area were also present at the occasion.
