The army has withdrawn from a camp in Kuduirippu in Vavuniya that they had occupied for the past 26 years.

The camp was under the Vanni Defence HQ command.

The building of the camp originally belonged to the District Secretariat and had been in use as a cultural centre before the army took it over. The army has now handed it back to the District Secretariat.
