Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera today sought permission from the High Court to travel abroad for a Dhamma program in the UK.
His lawyers today filed a request through a motion, informing that Dhammaloka Thera has to be abroad from September 3 to September 7.
The Attorney General requested the relevant documents before an opinion could be given.
High Court judge Nissanka Bandula Karunathilaka gave the attorney General till tomorrow to give his opinion on Dhammaloka Thera's request.
Dhammaloka Thera is on bail over the illegal possession of an elephant calf and his passport has been impounded by the High Court.
