Schoolboy Arrested For Hacking President's Website

The CID arrested a 17-year-old schoolboy from Kadugannawa for allegedly hacking the official website of President Maithripala Sirisena.

The website was hacked on two consecutive days, on August 25 and 26.

The first hacking was done by a Sri Lankan individual or group who posted a message in Sinhalese. The second hacking was claimed to be the work of a Bangladeshi.

However the Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) later said that both the attacks were likely the work of a local.
