SLPA Launches Separate Investigation On Fire At Hyundai Private Site

Sri Lanka Ports Authority has begun separate investigations regarding this fire which broke out yesterday in the Colombo port.

The fire broke out at the Colombo Port’s Hyundai private site at around 1.30 p.m. The fire occurred at a stack of scrap rubber tubes. These rubber tubes are used to pump sand to the land from the sea.

There was no disturbance for the day to day activities of the Sri Lankan Ports Authority or for the Colombo Port terminals due to the fire, the Government Information Department said. The private site is located outside the shipping operation area of the Colombo Port. No property of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority was lost and no personal injuries were reported due to the fire.
