SL Denies Any Political Facilities To Former Maldives President

Sri Lanka Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that Sri Lankan government has not provided any political facilities to former Maldives President. He was given the regular treatment as a former president at the VIP lounge, Bandaranaike International Airport.

According to the officials of the Ministry, the request for special protection and other facilities by ex-president was denied by the Sri Lankan government.

Former President of Maldives Mohamed Nasheed flew to Colombo on Friday (26) to meet Maldives opposition leaders.

Maldives government has not made a statement over Nasheed's visit to Sri Lanka.
