Police Use Water Cannon, Tear Gas Against Protesters Near Dambulla Stadium

Police used tear gas and water cannon against protesters who blocked the Kurunegala - Colombo Road near Dambulla International Stadium this afternoon.

The protesters alleged that they have not received tickets to watch the game. However, Sri Lanka Cricket had announced last night that all tickets have been sold out for today's match.

The protest created heavy traffic along the road.

Stadium officials said that people without tickets had entered the stadium by force during the third ODI.

The fourth ODI between Sri Lanka and Australia is currently taking place at the Dambulla Stadium.
