Wigneswaran Manages To Secure Separate Meeting With UN Secretary General

The Chief Minister of Northern Province, C.V. Wigneswaran, has managed to get a separate meeting with the visiting UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, after being clubbed together with other leaders of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) for a full-scale official session with the UN chief when he comes to Jaffna on September 2.

The New Indian Express, citing sources within the TNA said that Ban will have a brief meeting with Wigneswaran on his way out after a full-scale meeting with the TNA leaders led by party chief R. Sampanthan.

The UN Chief is currently in Galle and will visit Jaffna tomorrow. He will meet the Northern Province Governor and internally displaced people in the northern province during his visit to Jaffna. He will leave the island later tomorrow evening.
