September 06, 2016

The 'Joint Opposition' will raise a question from the Prime Minister in Parliament regarding the attack on the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Malaysia Ibrahim Ansar.

This decision was taken at a meeting of the Joint Opposition MPs at the Parliamentary complex today.

Ansar was assaulted on Sunday at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport after he had accompanied Ministers Daya Gamage and Anoma Gamage to the airport.

MP Dinesh Gunawardena said that he will be raising the question on the assault on the High Commissioner by a handful of LTTE sympathizers, which was actually an attack on the country. The Prime Minister will also be asked to inform Parliament of the steps taken by the government regarding the incident.
