Hambantota Police Has Falsified Records: Police Media Spokesman

Police Media Spokesman Ajith Rohana today revealed that the Hambantota Police had falsified police records regarding the arrest of three youth over an alleged paddy theft on September 9.

The police have recorded that two youth were arrested while it has been revealed that three were arrested in reality, the Media Spokesman said.

He also said that the investigations pertaining to the disappearance of the youth could be finished within another two days.

G.G Gayashan, a 20-years-old from Bandagiriya, was arrested on September 9 along with two other individuals by the Hambanthota police for allegedly stealing paddy from a warehouse in Hambantota. He went missing afterwards.

The National Police Commission and the Human Rights Commission have also launched investigations in to the incident.
