Duminda Silva Files Appeal Over Bharatha Lakshman Murder Conviction

Former MP Duminda Silva filed an appeal at the Colombo High Court registrar's office over the conviction regarding the murder of Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra and three others.

He has requested his conviction to be overturned and he be acquitted and released.

Three others who were convicted filed appeals on September 20.

Accordlngly, Anura Thushara de Mel, Chaminda Ravi Jayanath alias Dematagoda Chaminda and Dissanayake Mudiyanselage Sarath Bandara filed appeals against their convictions and sought they be acquitted and released.

The fifth convict was tried in absentia and his whereabouts are unknown.
