Prisoners Updating Facebook: Respondent Gives Suggestion To Hirunika

September 24, 2016

Hirunika Premachandra recently came out on Facebook to complain that two of the convicts in her father's murder trial were getting their Facebook accounts updated while they were in prison.

A respondent pointed out that it will be easier to install signal jammers than to attempt at stopping prisoners getting hold of smart phones.

If jammers are there, even if the prisoners have all the smart phones in the world with them, they will be of no use, this respondent said.

Premachandra was yet to respond to the suggestion.

She earlier said that she was coming out in public on this matter to change the corrupted system.

She however acknowledges that the Facebook accounts may be updated by a different person.
