Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam clarified a report on denying opportunity to enter popular schools through Grade 5 Scholarship, saying that his comments have been misinterpreted.

The Minister, speaking to a vernacular newspaper, said that a committee has been appointed to look into the possible reforms that could be made for the exam, as it has become a huge strain on the children.

The committee is considering all possible changes that could be introduced and is still studying the problem, Kariyawasam said.
