Bribery Commission DG Resigns Days After President's Controversial Speech

The Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe stated that she has forwarded her resignation letter to the President.

This comes days after President Sirisena made a controversial speech where he said that the Bribery Commission could be working under a political agenda.

He slammed the commission for filing a court case against three former navy commanders.

Speaking further, he insisted that the commission should understand as to why independent commissions were created.
