Senaratne Questions If Bribery Commission DG Leaked Information To Rajapaksa

Health Minister and Co-Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Rajitha Senaratne today slammed the former Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe, saying that she messed up the investigation on former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's bank accounts in Dubai.

Speaking to the press today at the Government Information Department, Senaratne also raised the question as to whether Wickramasinghe leaked information to Rajapaksa.

"Wickramasinghe came to see the President to obtain a letter to seek assistance from the king of Dubai in the investigation. Within an hour, Rajapaksa called the President and asked if the President had written a letter to the king against him. If President Sirisena did not leak this fact, who did it?" Senaratne asked.

Furthermore, he accused Wickramasinghe of taking shortcut methods in search of quck credit, and messing up the investigation.

The commission wanted to say its independent, and therefore it started summoning SLFP members, Senaratne accused, bringing out the case of Minister A.H.M. Fowzie. The commission is worried about relatively smaller scale corruption while the probes on the large scale corruption incidents are stalled, he added.
