Sanjeewani Indira Jayasuriya Dicker, the younger daughter of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, passed away in London last evening.

A past pupil of St Bridget Convent and Devi Balika Vidyalaya, she studied at Full Neck Girls School in Yorkshire before entering the University of Bradford to study economics. She later did her PhD at the London School of Economics.

She held managerial posts in several financial companies in Britain. Married to Martyn Dicker, she was a mother of two. She was aged 40 at the time of her death.

As per her last will, her final rites will be conducted in England.
