An atmospheric disturbance has formed to the southeast of Sri Lanka in the Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, prevailing showery condition is likely to enhance during  next few days (during 18-21 November 2016 ), particularly in the Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Western, Eastern, and  Uva provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Northern, Eastern, Southern and Uva provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere particularly after 2.00 p.m. Heavy falls (about 100mm) can be expected at some places, particularly in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces during the morning.

Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
