Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil aviation Ashok Abeysinghe says a feasibility report is being prepared to introduce electric trains to the country.  

The project had commenced on 7th of July this year.  Preliminary planning has already been completed. A project management institution and a steering committee have been appointed as well.  Speaking in the parliament the deputy minister disclosed a staff will be enrolled within the next month.  

Special attention has also been focused on the Kelani Vallley railway line.  All activities will be completed within the next five years.
