State Enterprise Development Act To Be Present Next Year

Today is the 12th day of the committee stage debate at the parliament. Votes of the ministries of industries and commerce, state enterprises development and primary industries are being debated in the House today. Starting the debate deputy minister Eran Wickremaratne said a programme has been implemented to restructure institutions that come under the Ministry of Public Enterprises Development. The aim is to make them profitable bodies. 

The state enterprise development act will be presented to parliament next year. After passing this act the state enterprises can carryout their activities without political influence.

Meanwhile, deputy minister Ajith P. Perera said a network of solar power panels has been installed in the parliament complex. This will provide a renewable energy to the parliament complex and the cost of electricity can be cut by 70 percent.
