Sri Lanka And Andorra Establish Diplomatic Relations

Sri Lanka established formal diplomatic relations with Andorra recently.

Dr. Rohan Perera, Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations and his Andorra counterpart Mrs. Elisenda Vives Balmaña signed the Joint Communiqué establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries, at the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in New York.

The establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Andorra is part of the mutual desire of both countries to promote brotherly ties of friendship and cooperation in the political, economic and cultural, the government said in a statement . 

Likewise, part of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18, 1961, and the fundamental norms and principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. 

This is the 139th state with which Andorra established diplomatic relations.

Andorra, officially the Principality of Andorra, also called the Principality of the Valleys of Andorra is a sovereign landlocked micro-state in Southwestern Europe, located in the eastern Pyrenees mountains and bordered by Spain and France.

Andorra is the sixth-smallest nation in Europe.
