Sri Lanka Invited To Open Resident Mission In Angola

Sunil De Silva presented credentials to the President of Angola, Jose Eduardo Dos Santos as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Angola with residence in Pretoria, in the capital Luanda.

The President of Angola invited Sri Lanka to open a resident Mission in Angola to further bilateral relations between the two countries. The High Commissioner while conveying warm personal greetings from President of Sri Lanka to the President of Angola informed that the message would be duly conveyed to the relevant authorities in Sri Lanka.

The current trade relations with Angola are confined mainly to tea and apparels. Sri Lanka has further potential to expand exports Angola in the sectors of garments, machinery part, rubber products and Plastic packing.

High Commissioner W. Sunil De Silva is the second envoy from Sri Lanka to present credentials in Angola since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2004.
