SriLankan Airlines commenced its flights to Chennai which were stopped due to Cyclone Vardah yesterday.

The first flight took off from the Bandaranaike International Airport at 11.26 a.m. today.

It was to leave at 7.20 a.m. this morning but had to wait till the Chennai Airport gave clearance.

Cyclone Vardha struck Chennai yesterday prompting the closure of the airport.
