Tissa Attanayake Seeks Permission To Leave Country To See Daughter

December 16, 2016

Former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake today filed a motion seeking permission to travel to Australia to see his daughter.

Colombo High Court considered the motion and decided to reject him permission to travel.

Attanayake's passport has been impounded regarding the case on the alleged forgery of a document with signatures of the President and the Prime Minister.

The Attorney General objected to the release of Attanayake's passport, pointing out that day-to-day trial has been fixed from March 20, 2017.
