Raviraj Murder Trial: Prosecution Concludes Giving Evidence

The prosecution in the Raviraj murder trial concluded giving evidence yesterday before the seven member special jury.

The defence will start giving evidence today. Defence lawyers said that they will call upon only one witness.

It took the prosecution 20 days to present the case against the six accused. The prosecution called 25 witnesses and presented several documents including the Government’s Analysts reports and JMO reports regarding the case.

Wijeya Wickrema Manamperige Sanjaya Preethi Viraj, who allegedly took part in the murder, has been made a state witness. His testimony was a vital part in the prosecution's case.
