India has announced 180 scholarships for Sri Lankan students for the academic session 2017-2018. 

Hundred scholarships are to be granted under the Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme for all undergraduate courses except Medicine including Engineering, Science, Business, Economics, Commerce, Humanities and Arts. In addition Twenty five scholarships are to be given under the 

Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme. They will be granted for the undergraduate courses in the fields of IT, business studies and business technology. Furthermore another five scholarships are to be granted under the Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme for the doctorates in all subjects except Medicine.
