4,421 Deserters Officially Resign

Ministry of Defence states that 4,421 deserters of the armed forces have officially resigned from the service during the general amnesty period.

Latest report released by the Ministry said 5 officers and 3,868 soldiers have officially resigned, while 2 officers of the Navy and 388 Naval personnel and 13 Air Force officers and 165 personnel have had their services terminated.

The recently declared general amnesty period expires on the 31st of December.

The Ministry of Defence said members of the forces who do not officially resign from the service during this period will be arrested at the conclusion of the general amnesty period.
