The Sri Lanka Transport Board has  request Minister of Transport Nimal Siripala De Silva to amend the existing Sri Lanka Transport Board Act.

SLTB Act was enacted in 2005 and regulates the local transport industry including the SLTB.

 Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board Ramal Siriwardena has stated that the Act must undergo changes to cater to the present day needs.

Accordingly the SLTB officials have decided to put forward their concerns to the Transport Ministry.

The Chairman added that the board has requested a meeting with the Transport Minister to discuss their concerns pertaining to the Act.
