UNP Warns President About SLFP Members Working With SLPP

United National Party MP Nalin Bandara says President Maithripala Sirisena should pay close attention to the actions of certain provincial councillors attached to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

Addressing a media briefing held at the UNP Headquarters Sirikotha, MP Bandara says certain individuals are attempting destabilize the country.

Several provincial councils defeating the Development Special Provisions Bill he further noted.

MP Bandara said persons working with the opposition parties are attempting to  overturn the present administration.

He said President Maithripala Sirisena should address the issue claiming several SLFP members are working with the newly formed Sri Lanka Podujana Party.

MP Nalin Bandara questioned the loyalty of those members insist President as the chairman of the SLFP must take immediate action.

Responding to allegations of the party’s attempts to destabilize the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, MP Kavinda Jayewardene rejected the allegation saying the UNP is focused on rebuilding the nation while ensuring the rights of all people including political parties.
