Bodu Bala Sena was created by Patali Champika Ranawake and he was also misled by it, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa said.

He made this revelation yesterday speaking with the foreign correspondents in Colombo.

BBS General Secretary Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera recently told Ranawaka that he will be president in 2020, Rajapaksa also added. However, Ranawaka will not be a challenge to his political path, Rajapaksa further said.

Rajapaksa government's seemingly indifferent attitude towards the Buddhist radical organization eroded support for him among minority communities in the country, which played a part in his defeat at the 2015 Presidential Election.
