The foundation stone for the proposed Volkswagen manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka will be laid at Mahanugalanda Watta in Labuyaya, Kuliyapitiya on Tuesday evening. 

President Maithripala Sirisena will grace the occasion as the chief guest. 

Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe and Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam will also attend the event.
