No More Uniforms As Sri Lankan Aviation Industry Is On Tight Budget

December 31, 2016

Saree uniform of Sri Lankan aviation industry is much iconic.

Usually female aviation workers are officially issued 3-4 sarees per year.

However, it was reported that the relevant authorities in Katunayake International Airport and Mattala International Airport have failed to provide these uniforms since 2013.

When the workers requested for the standard issue as uniforms they already have are torned, it was flatly denied.

According to workers, they were asked to wear torn-off uniforms.

Hence, some have started wearing regular sarees for work.

Aviation is a hospitality based industry not to mention dealing with international customers.

Further, a standardness of a uniform represent the quality of the service symbolically.

There was no response when tried to contact relevant authorities.
