New Boat Service ‘Neduntharakai’ Launched In Delft

Strengthening the transport facilities of the passengers from Delft to Kurikattuwan in Jaffna and vice versa, the new boat service ‘Neduntharakai’ was ceremonially launched by the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faizer Musthapa at the Kurikattuwan pier yesterday (20th Jan.).


The new boat service launched under the Northern Provincial Council has been funded by the World Bank and Australian Government.

Made at Colombo Dockyard with the foreign consultation, the Rs. 150 million worth new boat will facilitate for about 80 passengers at one time.

The launching ceremony was also participated by State Minister Wijayakala Maheshwaran, MP M.A. Sumanthiran, NPC Chief Minister, and the Australian High Commissioner.
