Japan Aid To Prevent Terrorism And Strengthen Public Security

The government of Japan has agreed to provide a grant - under non-project projects grants - of 250 million yen (Rs. 327 million approximately) within 2016/2017 period for strengthening public security and increasing activities against terrorism.

The proposal by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to sign exchange notes with the government of Japan to obtain the said grants, was today approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
