SAITM Should Be Public - Private Partnership: Deputy Minister Paranavithana

Karunarathna Paranavithana, Deputy Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media says that South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) in Malabe, should be in-cooperated into government university where students entering the institution can be educated under payment.

Deputy Minister’s opinion is, that it can be collaborated with the open university.

The deputy minister Paranavithana made these views, during a radio programme.

During the programme parliamentarian, Wijayapala Hettiarachchi said, that present government has taken all the steps, to consolidate the establishment of the free education policy, initiated by united National Party.

He further said, if a section opposing the government, thinks that the government can be toppled over the issue of SAITM it is a total political mistake.
