Arjuna Aloysious' Newspaper 'Janayugaya' To Hit The Market In Early April

'Janayugaya', the newspaper funded by the Perpetual Treasuries company, is to be launched in early April, sources close to the company said.

The initial publicity campaign of the newspaper is currently underway.

Arjuna Aloysious, the owner of Perpetual Treasuries and the son-in-law of former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran, has formed a company titled 'Integrated Media Network' to publish the newspaper.

Aloysious' company has been at the centre of a major controversy since March, 2015, over the allegations relating to the Central Bank's Treasury bonds issue.

Sources close to Aloysious said the company had imported a brand-new, state of the art printing machine for the newspaper. The large majority of the newspaper's newspapers were previously employed by the Ceylon Newspapers Private Limited, owned by Parliamentarian Tiran Alles.

The newspaper is edited by former Editor in Chief of the Mawbima Newspaper Thushara Gunaratne and former Editor of the Mawbima Sunday newspaper Upul Joseph Fernando.
