Day After Karunanayake's Resignation UNP MPs Begin Attack On Two AG's Department Officials

A day after Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake resigned from office, the UNP has begun its attack on two Attorney General's Department officials, Asian Mirror is now in a position to reveal.

A group of UNP MPs have sent a letter to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, urging the latter to take action against two senior Attorney General's Department officials involved in the Treasury bonds investigation.

It is learnt that ASG Dappula de Livera and Yasantha Kodagoda have come under attack from UNP Parliamentarians .

Both of them questioned former Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake when the latter appeared before the Treasury bonds commission, earlier this month.

The MPs, in their letter, had told the Prime Minister that the two officials were working with the intention of defaming the UNP.

Meanwhile in his resignation speech in Parliament, Karunanayake said there was a conspiracy against him, initiated by officials of the Attorney General's Department.

The former Minister said the officials were acting against him to secure their promotions and other benefits.
