Heavy traffic has been reported from the Colombo city centre as the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) organised Anti-SAITM protest makes its way into Colombo.

The protest procession made up of people on foot and in vehicles has currently disrupted traffic in and around the Colombo Town Hall area, reports say.

The traffic extends as long as up to the Thumulla junction as vehicles make their way into Colombo.

GMOA Assistant Secretary Dr. Nalinda Herath said that over 5, 000 vehicles were expecting to participate in the protest procession.
