Fort Court Rejects Former Perpetual Treasuries Director Arjun Aloysius’s Request To Travel Abroad

The Fort Magistrates’ Court this afternoon turned down a request by former Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL) Director Arjun Aloysius to leave the country.

Arjun Aloysius is embroiled in the Central Bank bond scam that saw PTL make unprecedented gains during the period his father-in-law Arjuna Mahendran was Governor of the Central Bank.

The Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to investigate the issue concluded its hearings on October 8 and received an extension of 6 weeks to file it’s report.

Accordingly, the report into the Central Bank bond scam will be handed over to the President by the tribunal appointed to investigate it on December 8.
