Local university students and their parents have embarked on a ‘fast unto death’ beginning this morning.

The parents and students are demanding the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine is completely abolished.

In the initial stages five parents will begin the ‘fast unto death’ programme but they will be joined by more, a spokesperson for the university students said.

The local university students allege that SAITM is a ‘hora upadee kade’ that “sells” degrees.
