President Maithripala Sirisena participated in the ‘Sandakan Watila’ musical concert held at the Nelum Pokuna Theater on Sunday to commemorate the late veteran lyricist Premakeerthi De Alwis.

The prominent singers Victor Rathnayake, Sunil Edirisinghe, T.M. Jayarathna, and  Priya Suriyasena sang several songs written by late Premakeerthi De Alwis at this colourful event.

Mrs . Nirmala de Alwis presented the poetry books titled ‘Noselen Indrakeelaya Se’ and ‘Anthimaya’ written by Premakeerthi De Alwis as well as the book titled ‘Premakeerthin’ written by Mrs . Nirmala de Alwis, to the President during this event.

Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala, Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Thilak Waththuhewa Principal of Nalanda College and a large number of artistes were also present at the occasion.
