Sujeewa Senasinghe Lied About Calling Aloysius To 'Get Information' On The Book He Was Writing

November 22, 2017

Evidence that State Minister of International Trade Sujeewa Senasinghe lied about his telephone conversations with former Perpetual Treasuries Director Arjun Aloysius is making the rounds on social media.

International Trade State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe told the media he had made the calls to Perpetual Treasuries former Director Arjun Aloysius to ‘get information from him’ regarding a book he was writing on the Treasury bond issue.

However, the book in question was published on July 24, 2015. MP Sujeewa Senasinghe was appointed to Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) on July 7, 2016 – 349 days after the book was published.

Sixty-two calls were made between MP Sujeewa Senasinghe and Perpetual Treasuries former Director Arjun Aloysius between May 6, 2016 and October 28, 2016 - while the Committee was investigating the Treasury Bond issue.

Many people in public arena are sharing the picture of the ISBN of the book MP Sujeewa Senasinghe published as proof that he lied about his conversations with Arjun Aloysius.
