"Everyone in the government and the opposition should strengthen me in the regard," the President said, addressing an election meeting in Kandy.

The President said former President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is now vociferous about the Central Bank Bond Commission Report, did not come to Parliament to vote against Ravi Karunanayake when a no-confidence motion was presented against the matter.

"Instead,  he telephoned Ravi Karunanyake and congratulated," the President added.

The President said those shouting on stage claiming that the country will be divided and sold, had plans to sell 240 acres of land to a Chinese company to build the Port City.

"They also sold 06 acres of land of Army headquarters to build Shangri-La hotel," Sirisena said.
