Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is currently in Bangalore, India, sources close to him said. 

The former President  visited India to worship at the famous Tirupathi temple, they also said. 

Special security arrangement has been put in place for the former Sri Lankan President during his stay in India. 

This visit comes against a backdrop where a fresh political crisis is brewing in Sri Lanka, with State Minister Palitha Range Bandara threatening to bring a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
