A draft of the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is now being circulated among the political circles. 

The no-confidence motion is based on the Prime Minister's involvement in the appointment of former Central Bank Government Arjuna Mahendran and his inability, as the Law and Order Minister, to contain violence in kandy. 

The no-confidence motion is so far signed by 22 Joint Opposition MPs. 

JO Mps said a group of UNP MPs too were ready to sign the no-confidence motion. State Ministers Palitha Range Bandara and Wasantha Senanayake have already stated that they will support the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister.
