Highest Number Of High Court Judges Take Oaths In One Day: Sri Lanka On A Major Drive To Fast Track Cases


Sri Lanka appointed 13 new High Court judges in a bid to fast track court cases.

This is the highest number of High Court who took oath in one day in the Sri Lankan judicial history, our sources within the Justice Ministry said.

State Minister Ajith P Perera said this move would bolster the government's effort to convict those responsible for large scale crimes and corruption.

R. S. S. Sapuvida, Sujeewa Nissanka, Lal Ranasinghe Bandara, S. A. I. S. Suraweewa, M. Pradeep M. Abeyratne, M. M. Sahana Y. Mapa Bandara, S. Nandasekaran, Krishanthi Amaratunga, W. Yivonne. S. Fernando, G. G. Siripala, M. M. Abdullah,. Gihan Pilapitiya and S. Soosaithas took oaths before the Chief Justice as new High Court Judges.
