Harsha De Silva Says Revised Fuel Prices Should Stay: Stresses Need For Weekly Fuel Price Revision

State Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva, one of UNP's key economists, said the revised fuel prices should say.

The revised fuel prices, announced by Finance and Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera on Thursday night, were reversed on Friday by President Maithripala Sirisena.

"Revised fuel prices should stay. The price formula brought in 2003 or so was done away with by the new government. Finally we have once again introduced it; politically tough but critical to manage economy," de Silva said.

He also added that the Sri Lanka should adopt a system where fuel prices are revised on a weekly basis.

"In fact it should be revised weekly. India does it daily," the State Minister tweeted.
